Select Surfaces Faux Grass Review (2026): 5 Things to Know About Sam's Club's Recycled Turf Before You Buy
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Select Surfaces is a solid pick for Sam's Club members covering dog areas and patios, as long as you know its limits.
Select Surfaces sells turf at Sam's Club. Its main product is Evergreen Recycled Artificial Grass: a 1.5 in pile turf with C-shaped blades and a perforated polyurethane backing. It comes in 15 ft wide rolls from 12 to 70 ft long. Its stand-out claim is about 90% post-consumer recycled material. Buyer feedback is mostly positive, but the same small set of reviews is shared across many listings, and some buyers report shedding.
Verdict Best for: Sam's Club members covering dog areas, patios and small yards. Skip if: you're not a member, or you want a big, independently reviewed product for a large backyard. Buyer feedback: mostly positive, but the same small set of reviews repeats across roughly 10 size listings. Our take: from laying turf for event floors and backdrops, a 1.5 in pile with C-shaped blades is a sensible all-round build, and a few loose fibres out of a fresh roll are normal; a good shake and brush before laying usually settles it.

What owners like about Select Surfaces
Across the reviews on Sam's Club listings, buyers praise the same few things:
- Looks realistic from a distance. Several reviewers said so.
- Easy to install. Buyers described a straightforward DIY lay.
- Recycled content. A selling point for eco-minded buyers.
Common Select Surfaces complaints
The complaints are predictable, and most have a simple fix.
| Complaint | Detail | The fix |
|---|---|---|
| Shedding out of the package | Loose fibres on first unrolling | Shake it out, brush it and rinse before laying |
| Looks artificial up close | Longer pile can look less natural at close range | View a sample in person; brush it upright after laying |
| Not for large backyards | One reviewer advised against it for big yards | Use it for dog areas and patios; see faux grass for dogs |
| Syndicated reviews | The same reviews appear on about 10 listings, including one promotional review | Treat the feedback as one small sample, not ten |
What are the problems with Select Surfaces? Mainly early shedding, and only a small set of reviews shared across listings.
What Select Surfaces buyers say by listing

The best Select Surfaces products
If Select Surfaces suits you, these are the picks to start with.
Evergreen Recycled, 15 × 12 ft — Best for Dog Areas
Pile: 1.5 in | Size: 15 × 12 ft | Backing: perforated PU | Sold: Sam's Club (non-affiliate)
A 180 sq ft piece suits most dog runs and side yards. But rinse it often, since all dog turf needs it. See best faux grass for dog runs.
Evergreen Recycled, Longer Rolls — Best for Patios and Small Yards
Pile: 1.5 in | Width: 15 ft | Lengths: up to 70 ft | Sold: Sam's Club (non-affiliate)
A wide roll means fewer seams on a patio surround. But brush it well after laying, so the pile stands up evenly. See faux grass for patios.

If Select Surfaces isn't the right fit, these brands cover the gaps:
- Pregra for Costco's turf with a 10-year limited warranty.
